Butt implants or butt augmentation is a commonly requested procedure at our Raleigh, N.C. plastic surgery center. Over the past ten years, this procedure has become increasingly popular worldwide. Butt augmentation with implants can be performed on men and women who are unhappy with the appearance of their gluteal area. For some patients, the buttocks are too small for their frame and a more balanced look is desired. For others, the buttock shape may be too flat or square and a more curvy, youthful appearance is desired. Butt augmentation with implants is a procedure that reshapes and enhances the gluteal area, providing an uplifted and shapelier buttock profile. Dr. Christopher Morea has more than eighteen years of experience as a board certified plastic surgeon in Raleigh, N.C. and has performed hundreds of buttock augmentation procedures.
Butt implant surgery is performed using a shaped, silicone implant placed through an incision hidden inside the natural buttock crease. The implants are placed under the muscle fascia layer of the buttocks. Implants come in a number of shapes and sizes. Dr. Morea will evaluate you and help you choose the implant size that will give you the most attractive result. Butt implant surgery is a three hour outpatient procedure which is performed in our full accredited AAAASF certified surgery suite. Dr. Morea’s team of Registered Nurses will care for you in our recovery room prior to your discharge to home. Butt implant patients will be instructed to wear a compression garment for several weeks following surgery to obtain the most favorable results. Care should be taken to avoid direct pressure on the augmented buttock for two weeks following their surgery. Patients are instructed to lie on the abdomen or side when sleeping and to stand rather than sit for two weeks after surgery.
During your first consultation, you will meet personally with Dr. Morea to discuss your concern and goals regarding buttock implants. Following your exam, you will have the opportunity to view our library containing hundreds of before and after photos of actual butt augmentation patients from our practice. You will have the opportunity to discuss your options with regard to size and shape of buttock implants. Dr. Morea will give you a personal tour of his Raleigh plastic surgery practice and provide you with a written quote for the buttock implant procedure that is customized for you.
Patients can return to work one week following buttock augmentation with implants as long as they continue to follow our instructions regarding sitting.
During your consultation I will examine you and measure your buttocks in both the horizontal and vertical dimensions to determine which size implant can be placed.
There will be two incisions just outside of the gluteal crease which can be concealed by most swimwear and underwear.
I allow my patients to sit 15 minutes out of every hour one week following surgery. You can increase this by 15 minutes per hour each week following surgery.
You may begin to exercise one week following surgery provided you adhere to the guideline for activity which we will provide to you.
Your results will be apparent immediately following your surgery. Some swelling will persist for two to three months following your surgery.
