What is a Butt Augmentation?
Butt or gluteal augmentation is a procedure used to improve the volume, shape, and contour of the buttocks. Butt augmentation with implants can be performed on male and female patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their gluteal area. Some patients may have buttocks that are too small for their frame and may desire a more balanced look. Some people may find the buttock shape too flat or square and may desire a more curvy, youthful appearance. Dr. Christopher Morea has more than eighteen years of experience as a board-certified plastic surgeon in Raleigh, N.C., and has performed hundreds of buttock augmentation procedures.
Butt augmentation surgery is performed using a shaped, silicone implant placed through an incision hidden inside the natural buttock crease. We place the implants under the muscle fascia layer of the buttocks. Implants come in several shapes and sizes.
Dr. Morea will evaluate you and help you choose the implant size that will give you the most attractive result. Butt augmentation surgery is a three-hour outpatient procedure that is performed in our fully accredited AAAASF certified surgery suite. Dr. Morea’s team of Registered Nurses will care for you in our recovery room before your discharge home.
Butt implant patients will be instructed to wear a compression garment for several weeks following surgery to obtain the most favorable results. You should take care to avoid direct pressure on the augmented buttock for two weeks following the surgery. Patients should lie on the abdomen or side when sleeping and to stand rather than sit for two weeks after surgery.
During your first consultation, you will meet personally with Dr. Morea to discuss your concerns and goals regarding buttock implants. Following your exam, you will have the opportunity to view our library containing hundreds of before and after photos of actual butt augmentation patients from our practice. You will have the opportunity to discuss your options about size and shape of buttock implants.
